Rhode Island Evaluation Model Information for School Counselors

Rhode Island Evaluation Model Information for School Counselors

Support Professional Evaluation
The roles included in the Support Professional Evaluation are school counselors, library media specialists, reading specialists school nurse teachers, school psychologists, school social workers, and speech language pathologists.

Gradual Implementation
Gradual implementation will happen across the state for the 2013-2014 School Year. For gradual implementation, all components of the model will be used, but fewer conferences, student learning / outcome objectives, and observations will be required. This will be a "learning" year. RIDE will need feedback from the field to refine the model further for the 2014-2015 school year.

RI Model Support Professional Guidebook: This document will be used for K-12 school counselor evaluation in many RI school districts.

The training for the Rhode Island Model Support Professional Evaluation & Support System is now available and can be found here. These are a series of other online modules that further explain student learning. These online modules are available to evaluators, teachers, and support professionals and can be used at any time. They have been created to ensure all educators in the state can access training and info on their own time and hear a consistent message regarding the intent of the work. They have been used during evaluator training across the state.
